Offers expert practical advice and champions Social Enterprise for the North East at a regional, national and international level.

Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East (VONNE)

Regional infrastructure body for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the North East of England. VONNE's mission is to ensure that the voluntary and community sector plays a full part in the life of the North East.

Social Enterprise Coalition

The Social Enterprise Coalition is the UK's national body for social enterprise, representing a wide range of social enterprises, regional and national support networks and other related organisations.

Community Interest Companies (CICs) regulator

Community Interest Companies (CICS) are limited companies, with special additional features, created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not purely for private advantage. This is achieved by a "community interest test" and "asset lock", which ensure that the CIC is established for community purposes and the assets and profits are dedicated to these purposes. Registration of a company as a CIC has to be approved by the Regulator who also has a continuing monitoring and enforcement role.

Co-operatives North East

Co-operatives North East has been established to promote, build and represent co-operative enterprises in North East England.

Development Trusts Association North East

The main activities of the DTA in the North East are to:

• support the establishment of new development trusts
  
• support existing development trusts to work more effectively
  
• promote the development trust model within the region.
