Key business opportunities in the Portuguese markets for UK companies with a Low Carbon offering.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) are launching a Low Carbon Technologies event that identifies opportunities for UK companies across 5 key sectors - ICT, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Transportation and Creative industries.  Key contacts from both the public and private sector in Portugal will be attending the exhibition to source products and services that will enable them to meet their National Energy Plan for 2020.  This strategy reflects an overall investment of EUR31bn.  Opportunities for UK companies are diverse in the areas of clean technologies and green technologies, these include:

  • Electricity generation, transmission and consumption
  • Urban mobility management systems
  • Building management systems (Monitoring and control of consumption)
  • Solar energy (thermal and photovaltics)
  • Hydro and wind energy
  • Sustainable architecture, design and construction
  • Waste and wastewater handling and treatment
  • Air pollution control

... and many more

There are also 2 presentations planned, the first will focus on Wave Energy and the other will look at Carbon Finance.  Speaking opportunities are available for UK companies who can offer expertise in these areas.  In addition UK Minister Greg Baker will be visiting the event to meet with both Portuguese contacts and UK representatives.

The Low Carbon Technologies exhibition will be held on 30 September at the Ambassador's residence in Lisbon.  We will set up meetings tailored to your company's specific needs during the morning, and the exhibition will be open to a wider audience during the afternoon.

Depending on your travelling plans we can also arrange meetings with key contacts for you on a different date.
