Heathrow Area Supply Chain Programme (HASC)

LEARN HOW TO WIN BUSINESS - The Heathrow Area Supply Chain Programme is funded by London Boroughs of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing. The programme of support is designed to help local businesses win contracts in the public and private sector supply chains, specifically with local councils and Heathrow Airport. Over £600,000 worth of funding is being spent over the next 3 years in order to achieve this.

The main aims of the programme are:

• To identify procurement opportunities for Small & Medium-sized enterprises/businesses

(SME) in West London (Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing in particular).
• To promote supplier diversity and sustainable procurement to procurement professionals

in major supply chains within the above region.
• To contribute to making sustainable local procurement a prerequisite of public and private

sector contracting in London
• To open up public sector and airport related supply chains

The key outcomes of the programme are:

• 20 Jobs to be created
• 30 Jobs to be safeguarded
• 100 SMEs with sales in new markets
• £5m New sales generated

FREE TRAINING

Workshops will run throughout September and October 2010 to educate businesses on how the public sector and airport purchase goods and services and where the opportunities lie for small companies. Details of the FREE workshops can be found HERE.

MEET THE BUYERS

In November the Heathrow Meet the Buyer 2010 event will take place to bring the opportunities to small & medium sized businesses. 100 buyers will attend & this year will be the BIGGEST Meet the Buyer event we have ever organised. Local businesses will have the chance to have face to face sales meetings with buyers of their choice. The event works like a reverse of an exhibition where the buyers are situated in stands and suppliers go to the stand to have their 10 minute meeting. Be part of this event in 2010 and get the chance to open doors to new clients.

FOLLOW UP

The event is only the first stage; we can't emphasize how important it is for all attendees to diligently follow up ALL the leads they gained from the event. The success of the event, and ultimately the programme, is determined by the business that is generated for SMEs throughout the region.
