The Heathrow Area Supply Chain Programme is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and the London Boroughs of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing. The programme of support is designed to help local businesses in the boroughs of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing (only) win contracts in the public and private sector supply chains, specifically with local councils and Heathrow Airport. Over £600,000 worth of funding is being spent over the 3 years in order to achieve this.
The main aims of the programme are:
- To identify procurement opportunities for Small & Medium-sized enterprises/businesses (SME's) in the areas of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing only.
- To promote supplier diversity and sustainable procurement to procurement professionals in major supply chains within the above region.
- To contribute to making sustainable local procurement a prerequisite of public and private sector contracting in London
- To open up public sector and airport related supply chains
The key outcomes of the programme are:
- To create jobs in local areas of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing
- To safeguard jobs in local areas of Hillingdon, Hounslow and Ealing
- Enable SME's to win business in new markets
- For SME's to generate new sales
